Restaurants in Can Tho Along the Can Tho River waterfront there are several cafe-restaurants, most serving Mekong specialities such as fish, frog and turtle, as well as standard backpacker fare.

The view of the local fruit market from the 2nd-storey terrace can't be beat. If you can't decide what to order, the pizzas are recommended.

Other popular eateries line the riverfronl strip, across from the huge Uncle Ho statue (which bears a curious resemblance to the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz).
Thien Hoa Tel: 821 942 Add: 26 Hat Ba Trung Main: 15, 000-25, 000d The speciality of the house are delicious Hue-style spring rolls (dac biet cha gio re).
Thanh Thuy Tel: 840 207 Add: 149 30 Thang 4 Mains: 20, 000-40, 000d This goat-meal, speciality restaurant is run by a Frenchman, formerly a chef in Toulouse. Try the curried goal, or if you're feeling adventurous, the goat-scrotum hotpot. It also docs good standard Vietnamese fare. The restaurant is a few kilometres out of town, just beyond the local university. Look for the sign on your Jeft, just beyond the junction with Tran Hoang Na.
Restaurant Alley Add: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Mains around 15, 000d This is a good spot to escape the tourist scene on the riverfront. Situated in an alley between Dien Rien Phu and Phan Dinh Phung, there are about a dozen local restaurants scattered on both sides of the street. |
